1,100 premature and critically ill babies are admitted to Wellington's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit every year.
They need all the help and support possible in the important first stages of their lives.
Staff in the NICU change bedding on an average of 30,000 times a year. We often receive requests from NICU staff for clothing and quilts for the unit.
The Hospital Volunteer Service includes 170 volunteers in the community who knit, sew and quilt 7,000 delicate items for these babies every year. From the smallest beanies and bootees you will ever see, to quilts and incubator covers to keep the babies safe and warm.
Your donation will help us buy more materials and brand new clothing so we can help newborn babies have the best start in life.
