Sick Kids Reach for the Sky

The children, along with some guardians, Nurse Dhevindri and Maria Quigley from Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation, met early in the morning at the Children's Hospital to be driven by Hospital Transport volunteers Brian and Ray, to the Air Force base at Wellington Airport.

There we met four Pilots from the Air Force who flew our group in 2 small King Air planes to Masterton Airfield.

Snap Roll Cafe had delicious treats set aside in the VIP section of the cafe and everyone was delighted to be given a private tour of vintage aircraft, some owned by Sir Peter Jackson, in the near by Vintage Aviator hanger.

Our thanks go to Lee Bennett, co-owner of Snap Roll Cafe, who organised the entire day and also Sara from the Vintage Aviator and our brilliant pilots from the Airforce, Michael, Rob, Aaron and Michal-Louise.
